I consider myself a little bit of a technology generalist. I have always been into bleeding edge technology even as a kid. Getting a jump start programming in high school, I knew my future would contain something to do with development. I grew a keen interest of web application development and my entire career has been concentrated on software development for web.
My journey in the realm of technology began with humble beginnings, marked by a hands-on approach to programming and a fervent curiosity for all things digital. From my early forays into web application development, I immersed myself in the intricate mechanics of front-end and back-end technologies, driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence and innovation. With each line of code written and every project undertaken, I honed my skills, mastering the nuances of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a myriad of other languages that form the backbone of the digital landscape.
As my proficiency grew, so too did my ambition. Eager to expand my horizons and embrace new challenges, I transitioned into leadership roles, drawing upon my technical expertise to guide and inspire others. In my executive leadership positions, I have overseen the development practices of Fortune 500 companies and guided teams of nearly 200 individuals towards shared goals of excellence and innovation.
In my current role as the Vice President of Engineering at Hello Alice, I have the privilege of leading a dynamic team of talented individuals, shaping the technological landscape and driving innovation in the digital realm. From fostering a culture of collaboration and creativity to steering strategic initiatives and guiding the next generation of tech leaders, I am committed to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible and empowering individuals to reach their full potential. On the personal side, I find solace and inspiration in the company of friends and family and the simple pleasures of everyday moments. Amidst the hustle and bustle of daily routines (two small kids at home), I make sure to find time for fun, learning, and exploring. Whether we’re finding new trails to hike, spending time in the beautiful North Carolina mountains or swimming off it’s beaches along the cost, we like to soak in those little moments as they come. As I navigate the journey of parenthood and family life, I find joy in the simple pleasures of togetherness, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
When time allows for personal pursuits, I indulge in a diverse array of hobbies that fuel my passions and spark creativity. From strumming chords on my guitar to delving into the intricacies of music production, each endeavor offers a glimpse into the depths of my creative spirit. I find fulfillment in running media servers, curating a vast library of movies and shows on my Plex server (all meticulously organized and legally sourced). Though my love for video games once consumed my leisure time, the demands of life have shifted my focus, leaving little room for immersive gaming experiences.
