Happy 2nd Anniversary!

To the best wife a man could have,

Happy 2nd anniversary!  Each year with you gets better then the last and these last couple of years have been 2 of the best in my life.  As you read this for the first time, we should be in Aspen about to get ready to head out for a day in town and, if weather permits, Maroon Bells.  Or, maybe before we decide to start the day we’ll be taking a dip in the amazing looking rooftop pool and spa (after all, thats one of the main reasons we picked this place). It can be difficult to put to words how much I love you and the amount of gratitude I have for all that you do for me.  I want to say thank you for being the best part of my life and, as always, I look forward to spending every upcoming moment of my life with you.

telluride

I want to take this time to recap some of the highlights of this last year.  Of course I have to start with last anniversary where we spent a long weekend in Telluride!   That was an amazing first anniversary which seems like it would be tough to beat… except for the fact that this year we’re spending it in Aspen!  I’m not sure if we’ll be able to keep up these awesome trips every year, but it won’t matter. We’ve created some unforgettable memories and I’m sure no matter where we are or what state life is in on future anniversaries, I’m sure we’ll reflect on these good times.  (mmmmm good times…)

After that we were able to round last year out with 2 Thanksgiving dinners with your extended family and mine here in Colorado (what a nice surprise that was to be able to enjoy the holidays with family so far from home). We also made 2 (almost) back to back trips to NC for Christmas and our mothers’ 60th birthdays.

While we were there enjoying the 60th birthday parties we were planning the next big phase of our living arrangements by finishing the basement.  I thought I’d bring this up because it was a good 2+ solid months of the year that may have had it’s ups and downs, but I think turned out better then I could have hoped.  I remember all those days wondering when things would be done.  Even though there might have been some shady people in and out of our house (“all done here Pam…”) at least you always had Rex there to viciously greet them and scare the crap out of them.

rafting

In the spring and and summer we were fortunate enough to get some visits from our family.  I love sharing our new home state with friends and family.  And it helps when I’ve got an awesome cousin in the mountains to help show us the ropes.  I loved the rafting and always enjoy our hikes on trails (new and old).

Spring and summer time has been amazing out here and you always seem to find great local activities for us to do.  From, hikes to the county fair, to food trucks, to Oktoberfest, to CU football and Rockies baseball and more.  Never a dull moment with you!

Last but not least, we can’t forget the new addition to our family, Miss. Ruby!  This little wiggle-butt has brought tremendous amounts of love to this family, not to mention plenty of mischief and wiggling.  She’s been a good buddy to Rex and I love the way her excitement to see you lights up your face.  I’m so glad we decided to bring in this new family member and am loving watching her grow into our family.
We’ve had a wonderful couple of years together and I’ve loved every minute of it (good and bad).  Thanks for another great year together and here’s to many more!  Love you babe!
